MISMO or Maarif Inter-Schools Maths Olympiad is the flagship event of Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools and Colleges, sponsored by Turkish Maarif Foundation. It is Pakistan's largest maths challenge that invites young students of grade 4 to grade 8, from all public and private schools across Pakistan, to showcase their mathematical skills at calculations, analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem solving. They compete with other students of the same grade, and try to establish their knowledge unequivocally.
Pak-Turk Maarif is an international chain of schools that is offering world-class academic facilities in 10 big cities of Pakistan. Established originally in 1992, these campuses are currently supervised by the Turkish government under the umbrella of Turkish Maarif Foundation. It has around 400 sister schools in 55 different countries of the world which internationally collaborate regularly to create international scope and vision for its pupils. Even the mayhems of COVID-19 pandemic couldn't alter the level of dedication of Pak-Turk Maarif's staff and the academic growth of its students due to immediate upgradation to regular online classes using a world-class LMS (Learning Management System) i.e., BlackBoard inc. Pak-Turk Maarif's this continual quest for advancement is a testimony of Pak-Turk Maarif's visionary approach towards life in general that aims to inculcate problem solving skills as well as constructive approach towards the difficulties among its scholars.
Maarif inter-schools Maths Olympiad is an unequivocal medium for the exchange of academic culture of the managements and administrations, teachers, and students of different private and public schools of Pakistan. The students are directed to solve mathematical problems as per their academic grade/class, and test their aptitude at analytical thinking. In order to encourage and motivate the young and enthusiastic students, the winners of the competition are awarded with amazing prizes and certified recognition.

Maths Olympiad Competition Manual Book 3 is designed for Primary 5 and 6 pupils and contains topics that help pupils develop their competency in tackling challenging and non-routine problems. MISMO 2019
MISMO is growing every year, and every passing year its popularity graph is increasing continually. You just have to look at the growing number of participants for each coming year to know that MISMO is incomparably the finest and the most transparent competition held across the whole country.
15th MISMO 2019 was held on 30th Nov, 2019, in which 16000 students (approx.) from grades 5 – 8 had competed at 44 MISMO exam centres located in 20 different cities of Pakistan. In a whole, 754 schools participated in this mega event, including 708 private and 46 public schools. A total sum of 4.6 million rupees had been distributed among the top scorers: 40 million at regional level and 0.6 million at national level.
The national ceremony was held at Marriot hotel Islamabad on 8th March 2020, under the honourable presence of Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, his Excellency Mr. Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, and the chairman of PakTurk Maarif, Mr. Harün Küçükaladağli.
It is noteworthy to mention here that in case any PakTurk Maarif student wins any position (both at national and regional levels), the award is duplicated to ensure fair play.

3.16TH MISMO 2021
Due to ban on public gathering, and complete lockdown on the pretext of COVID-19 pandemic, MISMO couldn't be organized in 2020. However, MISMO is back with its 16th chapter and with a renewed passion to make this unique event of Pakistan a success amid these pandemic waves. Following all SOPs, 16th MISMO 2021 is all set to present a new mathematics challenge to the young ones of Pakistan.
What's New
MISMO is back with a bang!!!
This year, MISMO has a wider scope, another grade included in the competition, and a larger amount for the rewards is set.
This year, the students from grade 4 can also participate in MISMO, and exhibit to the world their skills at mathematics. They will compete with other students of Grade 4 from all public and private schools of Pakistan.
Moreover, the reward for the top position holder at National level is also 100,000/- PKR along with some exciting surprises. And this cash prize is for each grade from 4th to 8th. However, the prestigious title of ‘Al-Khwarizmi of Pakistan' is solely granted to the national top position holder of Grade 8.
It is really interesting to note here that in case any student of Pak-Turk Maarif wins any position at national or regional level, the reward is duplicated to include at least one external participant. However, this condition is not applicable to the title of ‘Al-Khwarizmi of Pakistan'.
Another exciting feature of 16th MISMO is the availability of grading of participants' individual positions school-wise, city-wise, region-wide, and nation-wide. That means, if many students from one school chain are participating in MISMO, they will know where they stand with reference to their own school fellows. Similarly, you will be notified your position among all the participants from your respective city, and region as well. This innovative feature is introduced to instil a sense of achievement among the students, a heightened feeling of competition.

One of the greatest Muslim Mathematician of the history, the founder of Algebra, Muhammad Ibn Musa Al-Khwarizmi is the sole inspiration for the young students of Pakistan. To acknowledge the remarkable contributions of Al-Khwarizmi, and to transfer his legacy as a beacon light for the coming generations, the prestigious title of ‘Al-Khwarizmi of Pakistan' is awarded to the top position holder of grade 8.
